What if we treated their substandard exports the same way? What if we chose to retaliate?

We should stop begging for money from China and begin our own industries just to serve our own consumption, work with whichever companies want to work with us and build factories in our country. Promote innovation and proceed with the SGR from where the Chinese left off and build it with our own technology upto DRC.

That is way it should be, but it requires patriotic leaders who can see far. Development can’t be imported, it starts by admitting it is our responsibility. Then we become self aware of our needs and come up with tailor made solutions to our problems.
Chinese ni washenzi sana, if they are afraid of fruit flies from ripened avocados what would european say who import fresh flowers from us

We’re stuck with them to eternity…

The complete list of the top five African countries on China’s debt list are;
[ol]
[li]Angola[/li][li]Ethiopia[/li][li]Kenya[/li][li]The Republic of the Congo[/li][/ol]

This is false. By the way Kenya owes no money to the Chinese government because the Chinese government doesnt give us loans, rather Chinese banks offer countries loans, and as we all know, banks are after profits and above all most of them driven by pure greed. So who do we owe money… China EXIM bank, China Construction Bank, IMF, World Bank, Goldman Sachs(Eurobond) , and others. So thats why the Chinese government refused to offer Kenya a grant because its acting at the behest of bankers who argue that there isnt free money to give .

You just exposed your ignorance. China owns all those sources by virtue of how their economic system’s set up.

Learn some Geo- Political Economics, my frien before you expose your illiteracy. :stuck_out_tongue:

More factories, great!

How big is the Chinese avocado market? What’s the demand in tonnes?

China has 1.3 BILLION people. If only 5% would buy avocados, we’re looking at supplying 65Million people with that overhyped fruit! That’s more than the population of Kenya!!

What about competition from other supplying countries?

This is where we need to beat them: adherence to Chinese standards instead of whining about it. Exporters eyeing EU markets have to conform to stringent rules.

I say we the citizens, our gvts(national & county) need to be scratching our brains. There’s a whole new ecosystem being created here. I will be reading more on avocados, and even the peeling & freezing process.

Let’s get ready!!

unadhani small farmer in Murang’a atatoboa the 56 steps with his meager 80k bank savings at Equity bank?

Hii ni oligarch Gathecha na Moi watatoboa. Small farmer hata hana pick up, hata hajui airport ama sea port iko direction gani. Yeye ataendelea kutombwa tu na midroman pale Marigiti market.

The irony is labda I’m blaming the Chinese govt. for blocking poor Kenyans and it is akina Gathecha who demanded extreme conditions so they could corner that market for themselves.

You could be right but consider how coffee was in the better days or even tea & milk. The big boys made their big bucks while the small time farmers made enough for their families & financial growth.

Let the Murang’a farmers form groups/producer cooperatives. Market the fruit as a unit, process for yourselves.
The issue would be if marketing is captured by wakubwa like coffee.

Which are state controlled
