When Bad Things Happen to Good People

Why do bad things happen to good people? Which good people???
The bible points out clearly that there is no one righteous no not one.

And remember it is time to make yourself a better person.

New year, new beginnings, new resolutions. Whether you’ve resolved to live a healthier life, learn a new skill, or spend more time with family, Certainty Home Loans is committed to helping you reach your goal. Here are a few tips to help you succeed with your New Year’s resolutions.
[ul]
[li]Set SMART goals. This acronym is an easy way to write down and plan your goal in a way that communicates why this goal is important to you. After writing them down, place them in a location you can view regularly. SMART stands for: [/li]
[li] [/li][li]Specific – Clearly define your goal and the steps required to achieve it. Leave no room for ambiguity. For example, if your goal is to lose weight, be specific by saying “I want to lose 15 lbs.” followed by the steps to get there, such as how frequently you’ll exercise, stop drinking soda, etc.[/li][li] [/li][li]Measurable – Identity which part of your goal you want to change. If you want to lose 15 lbs, weigh yourself on the same day each week to measure your weight loss.[/li][li] [/li][li]Attainable – An unrealistic resolution is not a goal, but a wish. Set a goal that is realistically obtainable. Instead of wishing to be the best chef in America, try “I’m going to master three new dishes in one month.”[/li][li] [/li][li]Relevant – Choose resolutions that are relevant to your lifestyle. If you want to change careers, do have the skills to obtain the position and succeed? If the position would require you to work a different schedule (longer hours, at nights or weekends), can you do that while raising four children and coaching the local soccer team? Decide for yourself if your goal matches your lifestyle.[/li][li] [/li][li]Time-Bound – Creating a realistic deadline to achieve the overall goal and mini-deadline for each step. A year is too long for most resolutions, without achievable goals every few weeks to maintain course along the way.[/li][/ul]
[li]Remember KISS (Keep It Simple, Silly) – Simplicity is the key to successfully reaching your New Year’s resolutions. Keep your number of goals low, tackle one goal at a time, and try not to complicate your objective by making things more difficult than they have to be.[/li][li]Accountability Partner – It’s easy to give up on goals when they seem difficult and no one knows the goal you’re trying to reach. Consider having an accountability partner or group who will be able to take the journey with you and hold you accountable. Consider scheduling one-on-one meetings or join a small community.[/li][li]Track Yourself – Make sure to track your progress. Keep up with the small successes and use it as motivation to keep going. If you reach a setback, avoid beating yourself up about it. Everything worth doing isn’t easy but is it possible.[/li][li]Reward Yourself – Treat yourself to small rewards after reaching a checkpoint in your goal. That doesn’t mean you should eat an entire box of chocolates after successfully losing 5 lbs, but treat yourself to something that won’t contradict your goal.[/li]
According to minister Louis Farrakhan TMH puts people he loves through the furnace of affliction and after they come out they’re usually purified.

Some wierdness is waaaay above our paygrade :smiley: .

Nikii kuhitha whitey githemba kiu? Rarely see you on these streets. Good to see you.

Well Jesus said something very poignant, He said, persecution is the lot of all who follow Him. A servant can not be greater than his Master. Jesus was persecuted. If you are righteous you will be persecuted. Job was persecuted by Satan. David was a man after God’s heart and he was persecuted.
2 Timothy 3:12 English Standard Version (ESV)
12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

Why should the devil bother you if you are on your way to hell? He might persecute you then you run to God,so no he doesnt persecute evil people. Thankfully, earthly suffering comes to an end. Like that of Lazarus and the Rich Man. Luke 16 25 But Abraham answered, ‘Child, remember that during your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things. But now he is comforted here, while you are left to suffer. Isaac was persecuted by Ishmael.Joseph by his brothers and Pontiphar’s wife. The Israelites by the Egyptians. Jesus by the Pharisees,Saducees and Scribes.

Psalms
73 Truly God is good to Israel,
to those who are pure in heart.
2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled,
my steps had nearly slipped.
3 For I was envious of the arrogant
when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For they have no pangs until death;
their bodies are fat and sleek.
5 They are not in trouble as others are;
they are not stricken like the rest of mankind.
6 Therefore pride is their necklace;
violence covers them as a garment.
7 Their eyes swell out through fatness;
their hearts overflow with follies.
8 They scoff and speak with malice;
loftily they threaten oppression.
9 They set their mouths against the heavens,
and their tongue struts through the earth.
10 Therefore his people turn back to them,
and find no fault in them.[a]
11 And they say, “How can God know?
Is there knowledge in the Most High?”
12 Behold, these are the wicked;
always at ease, they increase in riches.
13 All in vain have I kept my heart clean
and washed my hands in innocence.
14 For all the day long I have been stricken
and rebuked every morning.
15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,”
I would have betrayed the generation of your children.
16 But when I thought how to understand this,
it seemed to me a wearisome task,
17 until I went into the sanctuary of God;
then I discerned their end.
18 Truly you set them in slippery places;
you make them fall to ruin.
19 How they are destroyed in a moment,
swept away utterly by terrors!
20 Like a dream when one awakes,
O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms.
21 When my soul was embittered,
when I was pricked in heart,
22 I was brutish and ignorant;
I was like a beast toward you.
23 Nevertheless, I am continually with you;
you hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength[b] of my heart and my portion forever.
27 For behold, those who are far from you shall perish;
you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you.
28 But for me it is good to be near God;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
that I may tell of all your works.
