Why Can't Kenya Refine Turkana Oil Badala Ya Exporting it

TZ , KENYA , SOUTH SUDAN all have refineries …na uganda is biulding it’s own …kila mtu ako na refinery but wajinga bado wana export oil …wtf …why export , why why ?

So, a typewriter can’t type in 2019 ?

@GERALD9949 si akuje hapa

Unataka Prime Fuels (proxy ya Gathisha) wakulie wapi.

In government offices, there still are documents that must be filled in by a manual typewriter.

Maintaining that jalopy is not worth the effort and the waste in crude that is there is like wasting half of what goes in…there are more efficient one and cheaper like in India which makes the fuel even cheaper.

Am yet to enter an office an see a working one anywhere.

You not finding one, is irrelevant.

The question should be why did everybody stop using it??..just because it can be used doesn’t mean we can use it…right!

heheheh. the answer is simple.
refining oil for local consumption, even though it makes economic sense locally, doesnt bring in money that can be siphoned off. Minerals come with that problem. the nigeria problem. very few countries have managed to be prosperous with minerals. eg canada. other wealthy countries have done it economic-wise by manufacturing. Middle eastern oil producers(arabs) are just taking the money and throwing one gigantic bash. sijui hiyo pesa ikiisha watafanya nini.
oil itauzwa utaendelea kuskia project hapa project pale. reli hapa superhighway pale. lack of foresight. mwafrika anataka kitu inaleta pesa saa hiyo anaunua facny stuff. project ya refinery stretching three decades or so ni kazi ngumu. akina abdibas huko berlin na luoamerican huko dallas ndio wana-show quintessential african attitude.

The changamwe refinery is incompatible with our oil and retooling it will cost too much and it will be cheaper to build a new one but a new one is still very expensive and take 5 years to build unlike a pipeline that takes 2years. So if we build one all the profits for some years will go into building it or paying back a loan therefore we wont get any money back from oil anytime soon. So if we export, we get instant cash back to build our economy. Also our oil is very little, barely made it to commercially viable.

Kenya doesn’t have oil to build refinery pipeline

Kenya is trying to steal oil from neighboring Somalia though
