Jiggers In Nyanza (Warning: Graphic photos)

I think it is in the social media where the jigger tragedy is made political and tribal! And it is in the social media where you find the young and the reckless who will make fun of a grave situation!

First of all understand when it enters your feet youl not notice you will only notice when the sensation starts…And mark you as any other parasites it burrows deeper with each day and its very tiny so it needs good vision to identify it and yes the tools of removing it in rural setting is either mwiba ya kayafa or a safety pin suffice to say if one hasnt got steel balls kutoa ni ngori and thats how they start spreading

This menace ni ya kitambo sana, but no local leader would allow any person/media to air it… Making it look like its a problem/curse affecting people from a certain region in Kenya.
Remember even in central Kamau faced resistance, threats from area leaders for trying to “tarnish” the area/region good name.
Hope something ll be done, its pathetic.

This person has loads of jigger infestations and looks so helpless. Only doctors can help or Akina Cecilia the model, yule wa Ahadi Kenya Trust. As for future infestations, perhaps Home Science should be brought back to Primary schools as it introduced kids to personal hygiene and general cleanliness.

That you said. And T.P.E!!! TOTAL POVERTY ERADICATION, period!

The people it affects most are the best placed to end the jigger problem. After all it is their problem, isn’t it? So they will honestly want to do it and they will do it neither for publicity nor for gaining political bonga points but for dear survival! That is why enlightenment is important and for the chemicals to be made available but more importantly for them to be made affordable!

ELIN IS AN UGLY TRIBALIST
