in my hustle days i lived in kibera for around a month hivi.kwa beste fulani.and life is not easy at all marafiki.yes you have to start somewhere and here is where i started .life in the ghetto is the best teacher.
now my question is…tutawahi jitoa kwa situations kama hizi kama nchi??with this kind of politicians and tribalism?will my sons children find this kind of houses or they will find a developed country to live in?are we going on the right direction as a country?
Tutajinasua vipi Sasa na mtego wa anti-development ulitunasa?
How do u explain leaders supporting burning and destruction of facilities to improve life in slums just because they were initiated by some people they don’t like?
How can we ‘redeem’ ourselves from poverty yet we r much ready to do as the LoP says without even thinking? Hata akisema no reporting to work, we blindly agree yet hicho kibarua chaweza kutunasua…
How do u explain phrases like, “baba alisema…” yet tunataka kujinasua?
How do u explain some leaders when they say that project X was their idea yet they fight their implementation?
How do u explain citizens burning down a ‘beyond-zero’ facilities that’s meant to check infant mortality in their areas just coz the guy they support has lost? Yet they strip naked when a court hands him sixty days win?
How… how… how…
It might be slow but we are moving, devolution initially will have teething problems like being experienced now but it will work after some years. Even America had major challenges when starting back then
By the way afadhali sisi atleast other than chokoras most families have a place they call home, in US homelessness is a major problem. The number of people living in tents, polythene bag houses kando ya barabara is increasing.
I hope that you understand that in the US, homelessness is almost always caused by an underlying mental disorder. There are enough systematic controls to place most in active employment. Not same as Kenya. You cant really compare Kenyas’ problems with those of he US.
So you want me to diagnose a mental disorder using a picture? Secondly, did I say they are mentally retarded? Mental retardation is a mental diorder but not all disorders are retardation. Use google my friend.
I am saying use google to learn what a mental disorder is. Most of those homeless people you see in that picture are offered jobs daily which they decline or cannot maintain due to the reason I gave you.
Weren’t decent houses built for them? What happened. I hear those houses along the railway line from Imara to City stadium were to move Kibera people to allow mchinku to pass SGR in Kibra. But since Baba saw Kibra votes going to Emba, They never moved. Mchinku moved SGR to Rongai.
I think that was a different project meant to discourage people from encroaching on the old railway line way leave that passes through Kibra. SGR’s map has avoided built up areas if you study it closely.
