I am finding out that the Langata one uses firewood and charcoal and takes 17 hours but the Kariokor one Shamshan Bhumi is electronic and lasts 30-35 minutes umekuwa jivu.

Can't comment about that. Sisi kwetu 2 weeks of mourning and feasting. We're celebrating a life, ala. Alafu driver wa hearse tunampea live chicken with firm instructions to throw it on his way back. Failure it which ni curse
hehe

You receive the ashes in an urn. You can either keep it in a special place to remind you of that special person, or spread the ashes according to the deceased's wishes.
At least that's what happens in the movies.
This is what happens in reality. Ashes in urns, you place them on your mantelpiece ama you scatter them according to the persons wishes. Some people keep them forever.

Kwa wale wanataka kuona how its done. Its graphic though. Kwetu hata uache laana theres no way anybody will cremate you, wewe ufufuke ujicremate mwenyewe

Watu wazikwe. How do you just burn a loved one to ashes. Its too harsh. Achia worms kitu.

Cremation by water. Dang. After being burnt unatoka ukiwa coals then they put you in a blender to become ashes. This is harsh. Btw none of these cremators want to be cremated themselves.

I saw another way of disposal of the body where they turn your body into organic fertiliser. I think it is the most environmentally friendly method.

Lakini hio ya Lang'ata ni very inefficient kama inachukua a whole 17 hours kuchoma mtu. Ata ukitumia tu kuni ya kawaida in an open space haifai ichukue more than 4 hours.

I went to Pio Gama Pintos grave and the guard there told me that his family bury on top of each other, as in in the same grave just on top of the last person who died. I was like thats gross. Like now Pintos mom was buried on top of him? Abomination.
