Back in March I was crashing at my buddies place after a series of unfortunate incidences..(story for another day). We were just having a casual conversation about SUV'swhen he referred to a "big car" which they had hired to accompany a collegue(kevo*) for mahari talks the previous week. Minutes later he was telling about their trip to the home of kevo's gf. That was the second time since the first meeting 3 weeks earlier wasn't fruitful . Apparently the parents were asking for a whooping 5 million shillings. After negotiations the chic's paroz settled at 3 million refusing to go lower. The guy wasn't satisfied so the guy left with his wazee and instructed the chic to "go crazy ". So girl started drama ie kulia, hunger strike among other tactics. The guy received the second invitation and ended up agreeing on 1.7mil. Which was to payed in two installments. Hearing this number send chills down my spine. I'm still in Campo but damn kama hii ndo kuoa or I'm I just cheap. So what are the figures out there? Married guys how much did you pay?

Kijana @Shemeji_x , If you don't have money and you want to get married don't go to the in-laws and say you want to pay dowry a few months after meeting your girl. As the elders have said, pea msichana mimba, then go ask for permission to stay with her. Waambie dowry utalipa baadaye, just give the wazees something small and they will allow you to stay with the girl.

Some families are very strict, they will insist on a high bride price and an expensive church wedding just to scare off peasants that want to approach their daughter
