I have lived in Nyeri and Karatina, Mukurweini etc…These places are 10-15 years behind kiambu in terms of civilization, development, technology and intellectualism. The last was karatina and that place is just a village with tall buildings. Duka ni za kuhesabiwa only mostly supermarkets. All the normal delicacies I know in my place are foreign things in karatina. unaamka 6am in the morning and no shop or outlet is open… a full town?! Ukitoka 5 metres out of karatina town and you will meet poverty personified… no electricity. enda kutoka karatina hadi mukurweini in between you will think uko north eastern…

Nyeri imejaribu kidogo but the average IQ there is 90. ALl they know is ‘uhuru si mwisi’. I was there in 2010s and normal modern cultural references are gibberish to them. Huko ukianika bozer zinaibiwa since they hadn’t seen them.Kiambu on the other hand is a city on a hill.
