The most challenging thing for Ruto 2022

#1
Ruto's main challenge 2022 will be to pick a running mate. If he goes for a person from mount Kenya, there will be a backlash all over the country with people saying two tribes want to exchange power and dominate us, if he goes for a Luhya will he get the entire Luhya vote or it will be divided again and then will mt Kenya support him now that none of them has not gotten anything. If he goes for a Kamba or Luo the same thing will result. The only option for Ruto will be to sit back and use wisdom and suggest that the Presidential Candidate and His running mate will be picked by party delegates so that whoever is chosen, Mr Ruto will excuse himself and say it was not his decision

In a Presidential System Running mates need to bring votes to the ticket. The era of choosing weaklings is gone. A ticket that can at least get half the votes in the country is imperative. Other alliances to dole out pork to the ethnic barons is also needed.

Given the dishonest nature of our alliances there is also need for cash to "settle" the ethnic barons before elections so that they support you without worrying too much about the future.

Ruto's tribal arithmetic does not add up without the Mt Kenya vote, especially if all other major tribes (I.e kikuyu, luyia, luo and Kamba) decide on a single alternative candidate.

Tough times ahead from the man from sugoi....

Or alternatively Mr Ruto should support the amendments of new constitution, like say a parliamentary system with a prime minister, who runs the government, two deputy prime ministers and a ceremonial president , so that he can have many positions to dangle to other areas for vote and avoid the likelihood of fallout due to unsatisfied members/supporters

Actually Ruto Will soon support constitutional amendments but not the way you have outlined ...watch this space

Mt Kenya dont want the Deputy president, probably an MOU with the majority Cabinet Secretaries like Finance, Energy, Agriculture, Health, Devolution, and Irrigation. The DP to the Luhya is the best bet for Ruto

And parastatals like KPC, KEBS, etc

mt Kenya right now is more interested in promises of good projects that benefit masses not positions to a few individuals. I hope they maintain this wise position

That is true for voters, but not true for power brokers like Murathe and Co. They know Uhuru and Ruto had an MOU in 2012, but they are aware Ruto is trying to seek the ticket without an MOU, and that is what they dont want.

I doubt kina murathes group actions are due to any intended betrayal by ruto. More like the other way. But I really don’t care if the elites betray each other. My only problem is with us voters who are easily manipulated by the elites who use us as hostages or baits for their personal enrichment . Hopefully the same way the electorate is questioning whether they have gained from presidency is the same way they will question any other docket.

The Gathecas reluctance to publicly endorse Ruto, like what he did when he said yangu kumi and Ruto kumi, is to coerce Ruto to come to the table. All the shenanigans you see with Murathe is for that purpose. Ruto under pressure from the brokers and perceived defection from the voters will make him come to the table very fast. Today every voter is thinking right, but come 2022 and Ben Githae procuses Gucokia guoko, Muigai Wa Njoroge is promised a state house invite, and Jacky Maribe is promised cultural CS the Song will change in Ruto's favor...voters forget so fast, and 1 day is like a century for them, a lot can change.

you lost me there coz right now in central, many are pro ruto and anti uhuru in what they see as the dynasties' attempt to betray ruto. That's why you have seen over the last few days since the revolt began uhuru has started tagging ruto to places and social media while avoiding the overbromancing with raila. As far as most are concerned, trying to downplay ruto due to corruption while selling the likes of mudavadi and raila is tantamount to okeying theft by dynasties while castigating theft by hustlers.....yes I know he is not a hustler but try telling that to the masses. The best murathes can do if they are seriously threatening ruto is bringing in someone like kivutha or mukhisa. That way they might be able to peel away enough mt Kenya ruto supporters to use as leverage. But this is the situation right now and might change as we move towards 2022

I agree with your point @ranny but the majority of the voters dont think by themeslves. they borrow what their leaders say, just the other day Uhuru called Kuria and Ngunjiri Washenzi and the 'public' were told it was directed at them, they agreed. Voters are very far from taking their own actions.

the reason public took it as directed to them is because kuria spoke out loud what they were whispering. No one told them it was directed at them. It was a spontaneous eruption. Even now, people are telling kuria that they understand the pressure the mafias put him under to apologize but they got and stood by his initial message inspite of the apologies.

But on voters unfortunately you are right. They are very easy to manipulate
