Not really, Mombasa port is the only port in the world that handles +30 million tonnes of cargo a year yet its only route is a single carriage road. Its amazing that it hasn’t reached a gridlock by now. Even with SGR, the Mombasa-Nairobi-Malaba road needs to be dualed.

mombasa is a shitty town… i was there last week and i cant stop wondering why its called a city. portholes are in every street in the CBD, the buildings are like 60 million years old, no highrise building, dirt is everywhere … the only place that looks like mombasa apa nairobi ni huko river road.

Other major highways too should be dualled. Alternative highways that cut across Kenya from a place like Lamu would also be crucial.
