I start this rant by first declaring that I am no billionaire but I get by.
There is this new trend that has caught up this year. Everybody and everyone is borrowing small money. Today I have 5 requests, some of them border on desperation with promise of refund by Sato. With a lot of begging when I say I have no money to give.
The most strange of them is borrowing by people who are not in your circle of friends and people who you don’t usually associate with. You even wonder how they thought of you…
I usually give small amounts like 500 to 1k when asked because I usually tell myself that in case one doesn’t refund such amount, then it locks them out from borrowing again from you and it has worked in some cases though some guys are shameless and will forget and come again.
Anyways there must be something going on.

Kensho, I thought I was the only one that is beginning to dodge calls especially from 254 which is v unlike me. It is being done in such a skillful way mpaka huna choice but to toa kakitu.

I once reported to work at 8pm the evening only to find a staff member who should have left at 5pm sitting behind her desk looking dejected. I asked her what the problem was and she told me she was dodging the landlord. I felt pity and asked her how much she needed. She borrowed 8k with profuse thanks and promises to refund as soon as she got her pay.

Its a trend. I have a theory to it. People have exhausted their credit worthiness with usual money lenders such as Tala, Branch and Mshwari. These money lenders have created the impression that money is easy to access that payment is “optional”. So if people can’t get money from mobile Lenders, they turn to people and at an alarming rate.

I narrated to her everything and even sent her the Mpesa transaction screen shot.Hapo ndipo niliponea,the siz sent me the cash the following week.
Things are baaad!! To me it is prominently from initially “feeling sweet” ladies who promise to pay in a few days time. I ignore, chenga, then on that day nasema imekuwa tight but hata hivyo since she was to pay me on that same day asijali… Coz I know bitches don’t pay
This is the best way of keeping parasites away. There are people who dodge me because I once loaned them useless amounts between 200 to thao. Mi hufurahi sana juu I know they would have asked for bigger amounts. Good riddance.
