Either way Boeing is fucked

Mbusit. Stop putting racial spin on what Keith is saying. If you are only 500hrs flying, you are not going on the cockpit either as captain or co-pilot, period. No matter you black or white.

Before 2013, 250 hrs was deemed enough until they realised hiyo ni umeffi.

Eish. Hata wewe umeingia hii umeffi?

And the payout to your family will be so much, it’ll be as though you never died?

Wow!!

Boeing, like any other US company, should go fuck themselves. What the Boeing incident tells us is that US industry is now drowning in it’s own hubris and incompetency. That’s why US companies have now resorted to using the state propaganda machine to knock out competitors – think of Huawei. Fuck them, nothing will stop them from losing.

They forget the basic principle of computers: Garbage In Garbage Out. Feed the computer with wrong data, expect wrong results

Sad.

Maybe more white americans should have died in those two crashes for the American govt to act…otherwise a few americans in a 3rd world airline are expendable.

Mimi issue yangu ni miaka. I think the pilot was too young to be a captain, fuck the flying hours. And to be trusted with a brand new plane faulty or otherwise.

I would trust the 65 year old Joseph Kinuthia (who flew the KQ inaugral flight to NY) a little more than the young but very illustrious Yared Mulugeta.

Hii ni kama surgery, utachagua Magoha ama mjamaa ametoka UoN juzi?

I think a Kinuthia type would have fought more with the aircraft is all I’m saying like that mzee who landed that plane in the river in the U.S. and they made a movie about him.

White supremist ujinga. Their pale skin doesn’t make them better than anyone. Anyway Boeing troubles is an advantage to the new Russian MC-21 range of airline. They passed certification in eu and usa with flying colours. 15 years of hardwork to create a cheaper, faster, longer range, easy to maintain, fuel efficient and packed with all modern gizmos/tech to fly the plane. Comes in three versions from 150 to 210 passengers.

How many crashes were due to pilot error…white pilots?

The engines Pratt & Whitney, the brakes, the avionics Honeywell, Goodrich… almost everything is from the U.S. :D:D:eek:

just another Boeing with a Russian name. Mabati yake ndio Russian pekee.

Masaibu ya Boeing haikuanza juzi. Remember a time when the planes had faulty batteries??? It became apparent that the company was hiring low-skilled staff in North Carolina. Brace yourselves, its about to get hot in the kitchen even with the patch coming in April.

and the next of kin will be her parents and siblings, not the poor husband coz he will enjoy that money with other women.

I really respect Putin, he is pushing for the Russian military industrial complex to also go commercial. The recent was when was seeing off the supersonic ‘white swan’ Tupolev tu-195 and he instructed the design team to come up with a commercial version of the same in 5 years.

Boeing and airbus problems don’t end there. Their biggest market is China where they get +1000 orders of every series aircraft. Well China Comac 919 has entered commercial operations after passing all eu, usa and global certifications. It now has over 1000 units orders in China alone.

I have 3 comments to make.

  1. No one knows for sure what caused the crash, but most suspect that as an anti-stall initiative where the control column is pushed forward to increase speed and reduce chances of stalling, this is only carried out above specific ceilings. If this is to go by, for the flight management computer to decide that the nose down position would help save the craft while the terrain warning was subdued tells a lot. Further explanation. A stall in a craft occurs when its not traveling fast enough to generate lift, remember planes fly utilizing aerodynamics. If that speed is not achieved, the lift wont be achieved and as such, the plane starts to ‘fall off’ the sky. One way of overcoming a stall is by increasing power by pushing the throttles forward, or by pushing the control column forward so that the plane points downward and starts descending. this descending increases speed, and once sufficient speed is attained, the pilot can level out and continue cruising. In Ethiopia’s case, it is suspected that the computer initiated a nose down position when the plane was still too low.

  2. In the USA under the FAA rules all first officers must have at least 1500 hours total time. This means that before you get the right hand seat in a commercial plane, you must have flown for more than 1500 hours. This means one thing, that American first officers at recruitment are better than other pilots who at times land jobs with only 250 hours. The first officer in this plane seems was so young and inexperienced. The KQ douala crash in Cameroon, the FO had less than 500 hours.

Now let me explain something here. In most flights, one pilot will do the take off while the landing will be dealt with by the other pilot, except in bad conditions where the captain flies both legs. This installs some small level of laxity in the pilot not flying, he monitors the instruments but if he had not had enough rest or is under alcohol influence, he might not be keen and hands on as the guy in control. This means that any error that occurs within the first few minutes of the flight might skip hsi eye as the pilot in command is busy controlling the plane. This is exactly what happened in the KQ crash in Cameroon.

So basically, that mzungu guy might be racist and sounds filthy, but he has some truth in what he is saying. First officers flying in American Airlines at recruitment are better than our own due to the more experience and TT that they have.

  1. The Boeing 737-8 Max is a good craft, more efficient. What needs to be done is retraining, pilots need to be retrained on how to handle this craft. Other than the AoA sensors, this is truly an engineering marvel.

Mimi kutoka kitambo I always saw captains as wazees most times with a military background.

Siku hizi because of the availability of flight schools, jumbo jet pilots are getting younger and younger.

I expected the Ethiopian captain would be around this age below, I was surprised to see the young face:

Or like Chesley Sullenberger the 60 year old who landed Flight 1549 in the Hudson River with no casualties with first officer Jeff Skiles.

Let’s compare the Ethiopian Airlines flight with the Lion Air one that crashed in Indonesia. It’s true, the ET first officer was inexperienced. The captain, on the other hand, had over 8,000 hours of flight. The Lion captain had 6,000 hours, while his co-pilot had 5,000 hours. Both extremely experienced. The two planes crashed in a remarkably similar manner, both mere minutes after take-off. In both instances, the pilots requested clearance to return to the airport after sensing trouble. So even with an inexperienced co-pilot, the ET crew still knew something was so amiss that they could not continue with the flight.
The 737-8 MAX has been the subject of loud grumblings among pilots due to its software system. Even the supposedly overqualified American pilots have complained that they don’t think Boeing has been forthcoming with details about this plane that could avert a disaster.
Given all of the above similarities between the two crashes, and the fact that 3 of the 4 pilots involved were super qualified, it sounds like they’re using this ET co-pilot as a scapegoat. They’re using his inexperience to tarnish the reputation of all pilots in developing countries, which IS racist.
