No matatus in CBD from next week.

It’s about time.

Publicity stunt, not practical.

This will be taken to court / petitioned & will be thrown out! They know this they are just enforcing it so that it be seen that ‘wanafanya kazi’

Edit: can’t relate, am hardly in the CBD anyway!

Can’t relate. Shida za watu wa Nairobi

It does’nt but there are very lazy people who can pay to be shuttled for a distance of 500 meters

Shida ni security especially at night kutembea from tao hadi stage. This is where even muggers will get mugged

Rwathia Group wenye downtown walipeleka mashida zao kwa Ouru. Kidero sold all parking spaces in downtown to Matatu Operators making business difficult for them.

metro ya Kuala Lumpur is elevated juu they faced the same problems we are facing now…where to get more space to widen the roads.

Yes, because town has become a parking lot for 1000’s of matatus awaiting their turn to pick up passengers. Whole streets are take up from Kimathi Street onwards. Time to reorganize the mess. Let’s have dedicated buses into CBD only that move constantly between stages instead of waiting. At least this was discussed and agreed with their saccos first.

The saccos will pretend to agree then go back on their word.

President Uhuru formed Namata to go through all these proposals, designs and studies and implement a network of mass transport. From matatu reforms to BRT, Mono rail and light commuter train. Kazi kwao. Let the elections end for the work to begin.

Actually I fear that as well especially if it hits them in the pocket. Kenyans ni kulazimishwa tu. Remember how they initially rejected the Muthurwa station. Kila mtu wants to get to CBD then they complain of Traffic jam.

The same Sonko went for a court order to allow his Matatus serving Buru Buru to be allowed to enter the CBD back 2006 when Matatu operation had been banned by the council.

Karma is a bitch.

expect a Matatu operators strike soon. If they were not “consulted” on these changes.
