The UN has selected Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to lead African Cities in the General Assembly conference in New York next week.
Sonko will be the only African leader who will address the conference which has been organized jointly by the Office of the President of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN.
The conference that will focus on the roles of cities in the global agenda, will be held on February 19 in New York, United States.
The theme of the conference will be; “From Global Issues to Local Priorities: The role of Cities in Global Agenda, including Cities for Sustainable Development, Food Security, Nutrition and Climate Change.”
more like walicheza pinkiponkie with all african cities ikaangukia nairobi,so tuseme walichagua the office of the governor…not the person.juu wangejua the person…
The mayor of Kigali should have got the honours to represent Africa at UN.
Sonko is a governor of a disfunctional city. What is he going to tell the mayors of cities such as Johannesburg, Kigali or Lagos that is worth listening to?
