The new fuel prices and the new reality

Akina rockerfeller wakianzisha standard oil walikuwa wamesoma? They were very very poor illiterate pastrolists and farmers just like the Turkanas. Walikuwa wanachimba mafuta na picks and shovels and rudimentary timber. Tafuta movie inaitwa THERE WILL BE BLOOD to get an idea.

Kuambiwa spanner inashikwa hivi, lorry inaendeshwa hivi… hivo tu? the oil industry in fact employs red necks all over the globe. Class 2 drop outs even in Texas and Alaska.

Unajua waKenya tunapenda ku complicate. And the leaders love it. They use it as a cover to misdirect the public. “Its too expensive labda tulete international investor.”

The buildings in Nairobi were built by illiterate Indians and African natives. Even Dubai right now is being built by Sri lankans and Bangladeshi who scarcely know how to read and write.

Mturkana hata ako mbele sana anajua kiswahili. The Arabs who today run Aramco were similarly desert dwelling pastoralists half a century ago.

A very good example of what I mentioned earlier, just because they are from Turkana you automatically assume that they are all illeterate to a point where they cannot even drive trucks.

Nuclear bombs to protect us from what enemy!? huh! the only country that has ever attempted to invade Kenya was Uganda during Idi Amin’s time and recently took Migingo unoppossed because that place “doesn’t matter”. I again I ask protect ourselves from what enemy? The only enemy we have is from within, who is also bringing in the Chinese to oppress us in our home turf.

As of this point, we do not have commercial quantities of oil yet. It does not make sense to build a refinery, now. Later yes.

Wanaitwa status quo elements. To keep the SUBjects SUBservient and their rulers relevant. Deep stuff. How?

Coal plant followed by the most expensive nuclear plant staffed by the most expensive foreign workers on earth!

And yet, the world is rife with examples of people who don’t want the STATUS QUO any more. Ukienda pale U.S. superpower the people, were VERY tired of typical democrats and republicans. They wanted a Che Guevarra, a Sankara… a man pulled away from the murderous crazy George Bush. They wanted an ALTERNATIVE LEFT, and they chose a young, ‘unspoilt’, charismatic, African boy going by the name Obama. Kidogo kidogo kumbe nugu inajua drone ni nini? The betrayal. Kumbe the CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN talk was just that : mere talk?!

Wakaangalia the opposite side, the ALTERNATIVE RIGHT and not the conservative murderous Jeb Bush. Wakaona billionaire fulani hapo inafuata hadi ma conspiracy theorists. A true disrupter of the status quo. Huyu hata hajali, anasalimia hadi North Korea. Hataki kujua saying things people think but can’t say. Fuck you U.N. fuck you theiving NATO…

Na akishindwa the U.S. is willing to go even crazier with the likes of the tea party. Hata Kenya ni time tu. Status quo hapa Kenya bado hawaja jua ati voters worldwide hawatambui heritage siku hizi. Watashangaa kuona nobody fulani ikiingia state house on a campaign of cheap electricity and fuel.

oya @introvert @byro @shocks @Randy illiterate guys too can design and build buildings?

if illiterate guys can do all these, why do we train architects and engineers?

Let’s stick to the topic at hand, it’s the new fuel prices and the new reality. It’s what is directly affecting us. The Turkana oil isn’t the issue now but the price.

Very true, at this point we need nobodies if we are to move forward. First water and energy sector should be open for any investor who can build infrastructure as long as he pays taxes and he passes in quality.

My friend utaona kila mtu akichukua share yake, dams na boreholes zitakuwa kwa wingi solar na windmills zitakuwa kila place viable unlike now ministry of water wanatubeba ufala mvua kibao lakini piped water ni shida, imagine jamaa wa isiolo wakisupply stima to thika na jamaa wa thika wakisupply maji isiolo… a country of abundance with no one suffering.

Why later? Why not now? Huoni hapo haumake sense.

Na anaringa siku hizi juu anajua we will go begging to use, then buy oil from him. Like the sugar we buy from him. Or the numerous other commodities we now buy from our neighbors.

If you were to invest in Turkana… who knows, Turkana could change Kenya. But like adapter said, hao wajinga weusi wacha wakae hivo kwanza. Ma dunderheads…

Ngoja uone dunderhead akichukua fe vile anakuwaga mjinga zaidi.

Stop reasoning by analogy, instead try to view things in a broad spectrum.

so we should support a flawed analogy?

$5-15B is the cost of a new oil refinery. Thats about ksh 500 billion minimum. Who is funding?

I think I explained why we,on our own cannot build a refinery.
Egos prevent a joint refinery which would be more viable

hehe very dangerous talk there. You are talking of changing Kenya overnight into a prosperous middle class or even first world state. Kura zitatoka wapi if you don’t have hungry mouths?

Mimi juzi nili propose aggressive uptake of air transport yaani tukuwe hata na situation where those kids in Makueni could easily have hopped on an affordable flight to Mombasa and back… but unaskia watu hapa hapana, air is wrong, its too this and too that… We are not ready!!

Look at our hotels. Hata sio zetu ni za wazungu! Unaskia Uhuru mwenyewe the president of the country akisema ati hakuna tourists…

Hadi anaenda majuu kuwatafuta!!

Nashindwa kwani sisi nyeuthi, nywele ngumu Bwana Gathecha hauwezi lipisha bei nafuu tukae kwa hoteli zako???

Hatutoshi mboga? Tutachafua vitanda ama nini? Tukija wengi hauta make profit?

Motherfuckers are grabbing even God’s green earth!

Sio pombe hamtaki ordinary Kenyans wajitengenezee yao. What would be so wrong with a busaa woman competing with your EABL? Bottled busaa. You lock everyone out of the industries. Sio changaa sio muratina… zote ni chafu.

What would be so hard with starting a Kenyan car manufacturer with JKUAT engineers wajenge pole pole with govt. support hadi wafikie Nissan siku moja?

Ati hapana lazima niwaletee Volkswagen kutoka Germany. I have connections there. Why can’t we make cars to suit Kenyan needs?

Hadi hospitali. Kama huna pesa kama Safaricom CEO, kufa!! Kenyans live like foreigners in their own country. Hadi tume accept building a refinery is not for us, it’s a preserve of “the others”…

Status quo ni wanoma I say.

Kama only 2-3% of employed Kenyans earn above 100k, hawo ndio unaita middle class? I’ll say and I’ll say it again, we need a discriminatory election system.
However much you try to twist it, the majority of the voters who decide a vote are mindless dolts and will always be so in a country governed like Kenya.

To remedy that, we need to change election laws to suit a highly selective electoral college. If you have to vote, then you must well be damn sure how your decision affects the country economically, socially and politically. Everyone involved has to go through a thorough vetting process. Kama huwezani, kaa kando na usiseme unaonewa.

thats some bullshit… last i checked global oil prices were down, how come kenya ndo inapanda pekee?

Taxes.

Kuna wakati Joho akiwa gavana mpya (first term) alikataanga serikali ipeane tender kwa wa China ya V.O.K - beach road link. It was a big issue coz he asked hao engineering student wa T.U.M (Msa Poly at that time kwani wanashindwa nini? na wanasoma hio miaka yote?) long story short the tender was given to local indians (capacity) with conditions to employee the T.U.M engineers and locals needless to say hio pesa yote ilibaki Msa. The road till this day haina hata shimo, of course this is one of those rare examples but still, kila mkenya angepewa chance ya kuchukua share yake tungekuwa mbali. Then again in the rat race is where they want us to stay.

If it’s about quantities then some of that oil to be piped from Sudan kusini to Lamu port should diverted to the Turkana refinery even if it’s just enough for local consumption.

But someone has to pay for the refinery first. It will cost roughly 500B to build one.

Divert their oil to process as our own? Are you suggesting we steal foreign oil?
