A huge apartment block in London has been completely engulfed in a huge, huge fire around 5AM EAT (about saa nane usiku kwao).
Sadly, it was an 24-floor apartment block in Kensington. Fire alarms didn’t go off, meaning sleeping people didn’t have any warning.
What’s more, the fire began in the lower floors, blocking the fire exit. At least two people jumped from the higher floors to their deaths.
Unbelievably, the fire took just minutes to engulf the entire building in some sort of hellish inferno that left fire-fighters just looking on.
One observer - an architect - has said he will be surprised if the death toll will be less than 200 people, given the very few numbers at a nearby evacuation centre.
