Why cant i walk in any hospital in Kenya and use my card without being told “oh we only cover civil servants, oh u’ll pay cash then utafuatilia baadae, oh coz u have not selected our hospital u cant use it here and will take blah blah months before system yetu ipick that update”.
Bullcr @ p!!
Mind u I am statutorily (by force of the law) deducted over Ksh1,000 every month na siezi tumia kwa hosi juu ya ii ujinga.
I mean in this day and age the NHIF card should be like an ATM card. The govt should f%ckin wake up and move with trends. Ama kuna watu huanga wanadandia ii pesa kueka kwa investments inazaa interest …pesa yetu…pesa ya wananchi.
If Safaricom changed the way we communicate, then we can revolutionise some of these centuries-old govt procedures.
hehehehehe, true, NHIF ndio tax huniudhi zaidi, you know for a k a month you can get an average cover from private insuarance companies

This is what happens when insurers don’t honor payments on time: service providers are reluctant to provide services to their clients.
NHIF programme should be reviewed urgently, it looks like a con game
Out here it works alright.
where exactly
I have always viewed NHIF as a pyramid scheme
Hii Kenya tu, hapa machinani.
Mbona?
Civil servants have a better cover in NHIF because apart from the statutory deduction, the government also chips in to provide an extra cover
They surrendered their medical allowances to form part of their NHIF contributions, over and above the statutory deductions.
If you look closely, the civil service scheme is being used as some sort of piloting for the scheme that covers the general population. Where the latter are today is where the civil servants scheme began.
We must however agree on one thing: at the current levels of contributions, benefits will always be dismal.
The cover is important formal or not.
